How to practice self-care at home

How to practice self-care at home

It is more important than ever to find time to prioritise your mental and physical health. This is something that we should all be making time for every day, but particularly in times of stress.

You don’t need to visit an expensive spa or book into a retreat to relax, there are many ways in which you can look after yourself at home:

1. Make your bed every morning

Making your bed every morning will make you appreciate your bedroom space more and will make you feel more together and prepared for the day. It will also help you to unwind when the day is over - and you have a nicely prepared bed to get back into to help you sleep better.

2. Take a long bath

Hot baths, either on their own or with salts and aromatherapy oils can be a really important way to wind down after a long day and signal to your body that it is time to unwind.

3. Take a nap

Even just 20 minutes of sleep can help to improve our energy levels and levels of cognition.

4. Eat Well

What we eat can have a dramatic impact on the way we feel. If you don’t eat well, you are unlikely to feel well. Plan meals ahead and choose exciting new recipes to ensure you are getting your five a day. If you need any inspiration, check out our meal plans.

5. Drink lots of water

Water is equally as important as food. Staying hydrated is one of the easiest ways we can look after our mental and physical health.
